Wanted: a talented junior designer for our award-winning creative agency in Bermondsey.

About us

Curious and collaborative, we’re here to start conversations, encourage connections and help brands – and people – feel good about themselves. A dedicated team of designers, writers, strategists, filmmakers and social media specialists, we work extensively in the destination marketing and higher education sectors. Our clients include Better Bankside, London Bridge City, Cheapside, Petticoat Lane, the Royal Academy of Dance, UCL and the University of Sussex.

We love what we do, and where we do it. We want to share our passion and experience with the next generation of design talent – offering them an opportunity to grow in a supportive environment.

Who we’re looking for

An ambitious graduate or junior with one to two years’ experience under your belt, you’ll have a passion for the craft, a keen eye for detail, a strong working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, and a constant stream of brilliant ideas.

About the role

No two days are the same at Hudson Fuggle, and our Designer will have the chance to get involved in the wide variety of work delivered by our team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responding creatively to client briefs, thinking around what’s being asked, and challenging where appropriate
  • Working both individually and as a team member on projects of all sizes across web, digital, film, animation, social and print
  • Delivering campaigns, brand assets and marketing collateral with care, confidence and creative flair
  • Following brand guidelines, production processes and studio best practice with meticulous attention to detail
  • Liaising directly with clients on a daily basis
  • Collaborating with freelance creatives and external suppliers (filmmakers, printers, photographers, copywriters), as required
  • Helping to maintain and raise our own creative standards across all areas of our work.

About you

We’re looking for a rising star with hands-on experience in the industry, gained through Further or Higher Education, internships, placements or employment.

Our ideal candidate will be:

  • Passionate – brimming with creative ideas and eager to bring them to life through design, film, animation, etc.
  • Organised – able to multitask and prioritise to meet competing deadlines
  • Practical – with a knack for fuss-free problem solving
  • Flexible – able to work in a smart and focused way, but also be open to change
  • Hands-on and hardworking– willing to get stuck into the wide range of tasks involved in this role
  • A strong team player – able to take direction and collaborate, but also work on their own initiative
  • Confident – able to build and maintain positive working relationships
  • Eager to learn – and not afraid to ask for support when needed
  • Culturally curious – an avid consumer of culture, aware of what’s happening now, with an eye on what’s happening next
  • Professional – punctual, polite, reliable and trustworthy
  • Friendly, approachable, diplomatic and enthusiastic
  • Fluent in English.

Confident on Mac-based software packages, you will have:

  • A solid working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite
  • The confidence to liaise directly with clients on the progress and day-to-day running of projects and to attend client presentations
  • The ability to accurately brief and work with freelancers and external suppliers (e.g. designers, artworkers, programmers, copywriters, filmakers etc.)
  • A keen eye for detail and a committment to maintaining the highest production standards in all areas
  • Excellent spoken and written English with strong communication skills
  • Working knowledge of front-end web design and development. (A basic understanding of Figma is ideal)
  • An interest in the place marketing, education and non-profit sectors.

What we can offer you

  • A friendly, social and supportive working environment
  • A competitive salary, dependent on experience
  • A workplace pension
  • 31 days annual leave (including the eight UK public holidays)
  • Additional paid holiday for the days between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day when the studio is closed
  • A commitment to training and continuing professional development
  • Monthly team outings and social events
  • Monday morning team breakfasts.
